Information about Area 52 A.A.
“I am responsible. When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there.
And for that: I am responsible.”
Area 52 includes all listed A.A. Groups in North Dakota and a few select A.A. groups in Montana and Minnesota. There are 10 Districts in Area 52. More information on each District is provided below.
The Meeting Finder page includes only meetings that are listed by the General Service Office of Alcoholics Anonymous and Area 52. There may be other meetings in your area that are not listed here.
The purpose of all A.A. group meetings, as the Preamble states, is for A.A. members to “share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.” Toward this end, A.A. groups have both open and closed meetings.
Closed meetings are only for A.A. members, or those who have a drinking problem and a desire to stop drinking. Open meetings are available to anyone that is interested in the Alcoholics Anonymous’ program of recovery from alcoholism. Non-alcoholics may attend open meetings as observers.
Additionally, there are many types of meetings in Area 52. Here is a partial list of the most common types: Big Book; Discussion; Speaker; Step Meeting; Tradition Study; 12 Steps & 12 Traditions; As Bill Sees It; Daily Reflections; Grapevine; Living Sober; Literature; LGBTQ; Newcomer; Birthday; Candlelight; Meditation; Native American; Women; Babysitting Available; Child-Friendly; Wheelchair Access. Meeting’s may include more than one type.
Unless otherwise noted, meetings are no-smoking and are NOT wheelchair accessible. Some no-smoking groups provide outdoor smoking areas. A “smoking” meeting allows smoking during part or all of the actual group meeting.
A directory listing on this website does not constitute or imply approval or endorsement of any group’s approach to or practice of the traditional A.A. program. This is a confidential list of A.A. meetings. It is not to be used as a mailing list for any purpose outside A.A., nor should it be used for any form of solicitation or commercial venture.
